What is AV?

AV stands for audio visual and refers to the equipment used to amplify sounds such as microphones and speakers, as well as display visual content with lighting, screens, and LED walls.

What kind of AV equipment do I need for my event?

This really depends on the type of event. Typically, an event will require microphones, projectors, screens, and lighting at a minimum. More bespoke audio visual services can include custom GOBO lighting, digital lecterns, digital posters, comfort monitors, clickers, and LED video walls.

Can I rent AV equipment for my event?

Yes, AV equipment can be hired for the duration of your event and you can hire a technician to set up and operate the AV equipment as well.

How much does it cost to rent audio visual equipment?

The cost of AV equipment/support depends on a few factors including the type and amount of equipment; customisation; AV technician/support requirements; and the duration of the hire. For an accurate quote, get in touch with your event brief and/or AV requirements.

Do you work with in-house AV teams?

Yes, we often work with venues with in-house AV teams and/or equipment. Whatever level of support is required, we will work directly with them to fulfil your event requirements.

 

For instance, if the venue has a small AV team and limited equipment, we will work alongside them, providing any extra AV equipment and/or AV technicians depending on the needs of your event.

 

If the venue just needs support on one aspect of AV, for example, lighting, we can provide specialist lighting equipment and technicians to ensure your event vision is realised.

 

In the case of the venue having a larger in-house AV team that is taking care of the technical production for your event, but doesn’t have media specialists such as Live Streaming or Event Filming equipment, operators, and engineers, we will work with them to make sure everything is in place for our needs as well as the event.

 

We will usually conduct a site visit and meet the AV team to map out the logistics together, liaising frequently with them ahead of the event to ensure a seamless working relationship throughout the project.

Can I use my own or the venue’s AV equipment for my event?

Yes, you can use your own or the venue’s audio visual equipment. We will need to ensure that the equipment is compatible with the venue and our own technical requirements. If your event requires more AV equipment than the venue has, we can provide what is needed.

Will you assess what I need for my venue and event?

Yes, we will conduct at least one site visit prior to the event to map out the technical and logistical details. At this point, we will be able to provide a full list of AV requirements for a successful event according to your objectives.

What are the differences between audio and visual equipment?

Audio equipment and visual equipment are both components of AV equipment, but audio equipment focuses on sound while visual equipment focuses on the display of visual content.

 

Audio equipment is used to ensure that the sound at an event is clear, balanced, and audible for all attendees. Audio equipment produces, amplifies, and/or records sound, for example, microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers, and recording devices.

 

Visual equipment is used to enhance the visual experience of an event, such as displaying presentation slides, videos, or live streams, as well as creating an engaging and immersive atmosphere. Examples of visual equipment include projectors, screens, TVs, LED walls, and lighting systems.
