Event Production: The Financial Times
We were back with The Financial Times at the Innovative Lawyers Global Summit with a full event production package including...
For the launch event of Sky’s new TV show, A Town Called Malice, an immersive event experience was designed with three scenes for the guests to move through. The event was held at Village Underground, one of our venue partners, and we helped transform the space with a comprehensive audio and visual system, prop sourcing, and project management.
Taking the event designs, we walked through each scene with Sky at Village Underground so we could design an AV system that would achieve their objectives. We created a predominantly visual system, which included rigging a lighting system to cover the whole venue and transform the space. We used a range of specialist lighting equipment to create the three distinct scenes – an airport departure lounge, an aeroplane scene, and the nightclub, Club Paradiso. This included neon signs, up-lighters, liquid light shows, GOBO logo projections, washes, and other lighting effects.
We also managed all of the digital media for the event using existing footage from Sky to create short soundbites and video clips for use over the TV screens and headphones within the scenes. In addition, we created an animation to be projected on loop behind the DJ booth.
We worked alongside Kew Workshop to design and build the three scenes and transform Village Underground. While Kew Workshop took care of the larger elements of event construction, we managed the event branding and design around the AV elements. This included the design (see mock-up on the left) and build of a neon TikTok booth, which served as a branded and functional backdrop for guests to create content. We also sourced props including retro TVs to create a TV stack playing video clips, and aeroplane seats and headphones.
Anna, the Design Lead here at London Filmed project managed, holding weekly catch-ups with all the stakeholders to ensure the project was progressing on time and that everyone was on the same page at each step of the build. A two-day set-up was planned from 8 am to 6 pm the day before and the day of the event. Post-event, a team was in place to de-rig immediately so Village Underground was ready for opening the following morning.
“This was a fantastic event to be part of and one that I’m particularly proud of. Together with the team at Sky and Kew Workshop, we transformed Village Underground into a creative, sensory three-scene experience. Guests were transported through a bright, sterile departure lounge to the aeroplane, which they stepped off to a blast of warm holiday air before having a drink and dance at Club Paradiso in all its neon pink, 80s glory! It was an absolute pleasure to work with the Sky team who helped to make this a seamless and fun project from start to finish.”

It’s rare we meet with new suppliers who from the get go really got the event brief and resulted in producing unique and creative solutions to our project. From the initial meeting right through to the final pre-production meeting, we overwhelmingly impressed by their attention to detail, suggestions and guidance that helped build and elevate our event. During the live, London Filmed were a joy to work with, reactive and problem solved, offering end-to-end high quality event delivery. We highly recommend London Filmed for your next project!
